রুয়ান্ডার রাজধানী কিগালিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো ভিভ আফ্রিকা ২০২৬। তিন দিনের এই আয়োজনে আফ্রিকার পোল্ট্রি, প্রাণিসম্পদ ও কৃষিব্যবসার সঙ্গে আন্তর্জাতিক প্রযুক্তি, বিনিয়োগ এবং বাজারের সংযোগ জোরদারের ওপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়।
কিগালি কনভেনশন সেন্টারে ৬ অক্টোবর লিডারশিপ কনফারেন্সের মধ্য দিয়ে পঞ্চম আসরের কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। এরপর ৭ ও ৮ অক্টোবর অনুষ্ঠিত হয় প্রদর্শনী। গবাদিপ্রাণি ও পোল্ট্রির খাদ্য উৎপাদন থেকে মানুষের খাবার প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত উৎপাদন ও সরবরাহব্যবস্থার বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের পেশাজীবীরা এতে অংশ নেন।
আয়োজকদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, এবারের আসরে ৬৯টি দেশ থেকে রেকর্ড ২ হাজার ২৫৭ জন দর্শনার্থী অংশ নেন। লিডারশিপ কনফারেন্সে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ২৩০ জন। পাশাপাশি ‘ইন্ডাস্ট্রি লিডার্স’ কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেন ১২১ জন শিল্পনেতা।
প্রদর্শনীতে ১৫৩টি প্রদর্শক প্রতিষ্ঠান খাদ্য, প্রাণিস্বাস্থ্য, প্রজনন ও হ্যাচারি, খামার উৎপাদন, প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ এবং খাদ্য প্রকৌশলসংক্রান্ত প্রযুক্তি ও সমাধান তুলে ধরে। নতুন ব্যবসায়িক সম্পর্ক গড়ে তোলার পাশাপাশি উৎপাদন খাতের বাস্তব সমস্যা ও সম্ভাব্য সমাধান নিয়ে মতবিনিময়ের সুযোগ তৈরি হয়।

পূর্ব আফ্রিকার খামারের খাদ্য উপকরণে নিজস্ব সক্ষমতা বাড়ানোর বিষয়েও আলোচনা করেন তিনি। এ ক্ষেত্রে স্থানীয় উৎস থেকে উপকরণ সংগ্রহ, জমির উৎপাদনশীলতা বৃদ্ধি এবং আঞ্চলিক সমন্বয়ের ওপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়।
নাইজেরিয়ার ফেডারেল ইউনিভার্সিটি উকারির প্রাণিবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রধান ড. লরেন্স আদেমু প্রাণিসম্পদ খাতে সমবায় সংগঠন শক্তিশালী করার প্রয়োজনীয়তা তুলে ধরেন। তাঁর আলোচনায় সমবায়ের মাধ্যমে পণ্যের মানোন্নয়ন এবং বাজারে প্রবেশের সুযোগ বাড়ানোর বিষয়টি উঠে আসে।
বিনিয়োগ ও বাজার সম্প্রসারণে বিশেষ ফোরাম
প্রদর্শনীর প্রথম দিন ৭ অক্টোবর অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ‘ইনভেস্টমেন্ট অ্যান্ড মার্কেট অ্যাকসেস ফোরাম’। রুয়ান্ডার কৃষি ও প্রাণিসম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় এবং রুয়ান্ডা ফুড ইনোভেশন পার্টনারশিপের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত আমন্ত্রণভিত্তিক এই সকালের অধিবেশনে বাজারের সম্ভাবনা ও রুয়ান্ডায় সুনির্দিষ্ট বিনিয়োগের সুযোগ নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়।
অর্থায়ন পাওয়ার বাধা, সম্ভাব্য বিনিয়োগকারীদের সঙ্গে ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের সংযোগ এবং অংশীদারত্ব গড়ে তোলার বিষয়ও আলোচনায় গুরুত্ব পায়। আফ্রিকার খাদ্য উৎপাদন ও সরবরাহব্যবস্থার উন্নয়নে ব্যবসা ও বিনিয়োগের মধ্যে কার্যকর সম্পর্ক তৈরির ওপর জোর দেওয়া হয়।
ক্রেতা ও প্রদর্শকদের সরাসরি সংযোগ
এবারের আয়োজনে প্রথমবারের মতো চালু হয় ‘হোস্টেড বায়ার প্রোগ্রাম’। এর মাধ্যমে নির্বাচিত ক্রেতাদের সঙ্গে তাঁদের ব্যবসায়িক চাহিদার সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রদর্শকদের যোগাযোগ করিয়ে দেওয়া হয়।
সুনির্দিষ্ট ব্যবসায়িক আলোচনা এগিয়ে নিতে এই উদ্যোগের পাশাপাশি ইন্ডাস্ট্রি লিডার্স কর্মসূচি এবং প্রদর্শনী প্রাঙ্গণের বিভিন্ন বৈঠকও ভূমিকা রাখে। এতে সম্ভাব্য ক্রেতা, সরবরাহকারী ও অংশীদারদের মধ্যে সরাসরি মতবিনিময়ের সুযোগ বাড়ে।
তরুণদের অংশগ্রহণে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব
কৃষি ও কৃষিব্যবসায় পরবর্তী প্রজন্মকে যুক্ত করতে এবারের ভিভ আফ্রিকায় বিশেষ যুব কর্মসূচি রাখা হয়। রুয়ান্ডা পোল্ট্রি ইন্ডাস্ট্রি অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সহযোগিতায় এতে অংশ নেন ১৮০ জন তরুণ।
তাঁরা প্রদর্শক, বিশেষজ্ঞ ও শিল্পসংশ্লিষ্ট পেশাজীবীদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগের সুযোগ পান। খাতটির বাস্তব কার্যক্রম, প্রয়োজনীয় দক্ষতা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ সম্ভাবনা সম্পর্কে ধারণা অর্জনের সুযোগও তৈরি হয়।
প্রদর্শনীর বাইরেও সহযোগিতার আলোচনা
রুয়ান্ডায় নিযুক্ত নেদারল্যান্ডসের রাষ্ট্রদূত জোয়ান উইগম্যান তাঁর বাসভবনে একটি সান্ধ্য যোগাযোগ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেন। এতে নির্বাচিত ডাচ প্রদর্শক ও শিল্পসংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিনিধিরা অংশ নেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে রুয়ান্ডা এবং বৃহত্তর অঞ্চলের ব্যবসায়িক সুযোগ, শিল্পের অগ্রগতি ও পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা নিয়ে মতবিনিময় হয়।
২০২৭ সাল থেকে প্রতিবছর ভিভ আফ্রিকা
আয়োজকেরা জানিয়েছেন, ২০২৭ সাল থেকে ভিভ আফ্রিকা প্রতিবছর অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম আফ্রিকায় পর্যায়ক্রমে আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে সাহারা-দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিভিন্ন বাজারের মধ্যে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগের সুযোগ বাড়ানো হবে।
এই সম্প্রসারণের পরবর্তী আসর অনুষ্ঠিত হবে আইভরি কোস্টের আবিদজানে, ২০২৭ সালের ৬ ও ৭ অক্টোবর। এর মধ্য দিয়ে পশ্চিম আফ্রিকায় ভিভ আফ্রিকার কার্যক্রম আরও বিস্তৃত হবে।

VIV Africa 2026 Concludes in Kigali, Strengthening Business and Investment Connections
Participants from 69 countries joined discussions on technology, local feed sourcing, youth entrepreneurship and market access across Africa’s poultry and livestock sectors
VIV Africa 2026 concluded in Kigali, Rwanda, following three days of business meetings, knowledge exchange and industry engagement focused on strengthening connections between African markets and international expertise.
The fifth edition opened with the Leadership Conference on October 6 at the Kigali Convention Centre, followed by two exhibition days on October 7–8. The event brought together professionals working across the feed-to-food value chain to explore technologies, practical solutions and new business relationships.
According to the organisers, attendance reached a record 2,257 visitors from 69 countries. The Leadership Conference attracted 230 attendees, while 121 industry leaders participated in the Industry Leaders programme.
Across the exhibition floor, 153 exhibitors presented products, technologies and services covering feed, animal health, breeding and hatching, farm production, processing and food engineering. Participants also exchanged perspectives on operational challenges and opportunities across the sector.
Local Feed Sourcing and Stronger Cooperatives
More than 30 speakers contributed to the Leadership Conference, examining practical approaches to strengthening Africa’s poultry and livestock industries.
Mary Were, Executive Director of the Kenya Poultry Farmers Association, highlighted the potential of youth-led agribusiness to create sustainable livelihoods through poultry value chains.
She also addressed East African feed sovereignty, focusing on local sourcing, improved land productivity and regional integration as priorities for strengthening the region’s feed supply.
Dr. Lawrence Ademu, Head of the Department of Animal Science at the Federal University Wukari in Nigeria, discussed the role of stronger livestock cooperatives in improving quality and access to markets.
Investment and Market Access in Focus
The Investment & Market Access Forum took place on October 7, the first exhibition day. Supported by Rwanda’s Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources and the Rwanda Food Innovation Partnership, the invitation-only breakfast session examined the market outlook and specific investment opportunities in Rwanda.
Discussions also addressed barriers to financing and opportunities to connect businesses with potential investors and partners. The forum placed particular emphasis on supporting the development of Africa’s feed-to-food value chain through investment and collaboration.
Targeted Connections Between Buyers and Exhibitors
This year’s edition introduced the Hosted Buyer Program, which connected selected buyers with exhibitors relevant to their business needs.
Alongside the Industry Leaders programme and meetings across the exhibition floor, the initiative created additional opportunities for focused discussions between prospective buyers, suppliers and business partners.
Engaging Young Professionals
VIV Africa 2026 also placed a dedicated emphasis on involving the next generation in farming and agribusiness.
Organised in partnership with the Rwanda Poultry Industry Association, the youth programme attracted 180 young participants. They connected with exhibitors, experts and industry professionals to gain practical knowledge and a clearer understanding of opportunities across the sector.
Collaboration Beyond the Exhibition
Joan Wiegman, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Rwanda, hosted a networking evening at her residence for selected Dutch exhibitors and industry representatives.
The gathering provided further opportunities to discuss business prospects, industry developments and collaboration in Rwanda and the wider region.
Annual Editions to Begin in 2027
The organisers announced that VIV Africa will become an annual event from 2027, alternating between East and West Africa. The move is intended to create more regular opportunities for industry engagement across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The next edition will take place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on October 6–7, 2027, marking the platform’s expansion into West Africa.
