নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক, টাঙ্গাইল, শুক্রবার, ২৭ ভাদ্র (১১ সেপ্টেম্বর): মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ প্রতিমন্ত্রী সুলতান সালাউদ্দিন টুকু, এমপি টাঙ্গাইলের আটপুকুরপাড় এলাকায় অবস্থিত মৎস্যবীজ উৎপাদন খামার পরিদর্শন করেছেন। শুক্রবার খামারটি পরিদর্শনকালে তিনি এর বিভিন্ন অবকাঠামো ও উৎপাদন কার্যক্রম ঘুরে দেখেন। একই সঙ্গে খামারে স্থাপিত ২০ কিলোওয়াট ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন সৌরবিদ্যুৎ ব্যবস্থার উদ্বোধন এবং খামার প্রাঙ্গণে একটি গাছের চারা রোপণ করেন।

পরিদর্শনকালে প্রতিমন্ত্রী খামারের পুকুর, হ্যাচারি, পোনা উৎপাদন ও সংরক্ষণব্যবস্থা পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন। সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তাদের কাছ থেকে তিনি খামারের বর্তমান উৎপাদন পরিস্থিতি, মৎস্যবীজের মান নিয়ন্ত্রণ, উৎপাদন সক্ষমতা, অবকাঠামোগত সুবিধা এবং চলমান উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত তথ্য নেন।

এ সময় মৎস্যবীজ উৎপাদনে আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার, উৎপাদন সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি এবং সরকারি মৎস্য খামারগুলোর কার্যকারিতা উন্নয়নের বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে কর্মকর্তা ও প্রকল্পসংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন প্রতিমন্ত্রী।

তিনি বলেন, দেশের ক্রমবর্ধমান মাছের চাহিদা পূরণ এবং মৎস্য উৎপাদনের ধারাবাহিক প্রবৃদ্ধি নিশ্চিত করতে উন্নত ও মানসম্পন্ন মৎস্যবীজ উৎপাদনের কোনো বিকল্প নেই। সুস্থ, রোগমুক্ত ও গুণগত মানসম্পন্ন পোনা উৎপাদন করা সম্ভব হলে মাছচাষিরা যেমন উপকৃত হবেন, তেমনি জাতীয় মৎস্য উৎপাদনও বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

সুলতান সালাউদ্দিন টুকু বলেন, নিরাপদ ও মানসম্পন্ন মৎস্যবীজ উৎপাদনের মাধ্যমে দেশের মৎস্যখাতকে আরও সমৃদ্ধ করতে সরকার নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। সরকারি মৎস্য খামারগুলোর অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়ন, আধুনিকায়ন ও উৎপাদন সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির মাধ্যমে মৎস্য উৎপাদনে নতুন গতি সঞ্চার করা সম্ভব হবে।

সরকারি মৎস্যবীজ উৎপাদন খামারগুলোকে মাছচাষিদের নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করে প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, এসব খামারের উৎপাদন ও সেবার মান বাড়াতে হবে। পাশাপাশি উন্নত জাতের ব্রুড মাছ সংরক্ষণ, বৈজ্ঞানিক প্রজননব্যবস্থা, পোনার স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা এবং আধুনিক ব্যবস্থাপনা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। এতে দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের মাছচাষিরা সহজেই মানসম্পন্ন পোনা সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন।

খামারে স্থাপিত ২০ কিলোওয়াট ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন সৌরবিদ্যুৎ ব্যবস্থা উদ্বোধন শেষে প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, সৌরশক্তিনির্ভর এ উদ্যোগ খামারের বিদ্যুৎ ব্যবস্থাপনাকে আরও টেকসই, নিরবচ্ছিন্ন ও সাশ্রয়ী করবে। সরকারি মৎস্য খামারগুলোতে নবায়নযোগ্য জ্বালানির ব্যবহার সম্প্রসারণ করা হলে একদিকে উৎপাদন ব্যয় কমবে, অন্যদিকে পরিবেশ সুরক্ষাও নিশ্চিত হবে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, পরিবেশবান্ধব প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার বর্তমান সরকারের অন্যতম অগ্রাধিকার। পর্যায়ক্রমে দেশের অন্যান্য সরকারি মৎস্য খামারেও সৌরবিদ্যুৎসহ আধুনিক ও পরিবেশবান্ধব প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহারের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে।

পরে প্রতিমন্ত্রী খামার প্রাঙ্গণে একটি গাছের চারা রোপণ করেন। এ সময় তিনি খামারের পরিবেশ ও জীববৈচিত্র্য রক্ষায় পরিকল্পিত বৃক্ষরোপণ এবং সবুজায়নের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।

পরিদর্শন ও উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মৎস্য অধিদপ্তরের ঢাকা বিভাগের পরিচালক মো. আহসান হাসিব খান, ‘বিদ্যমান সরকারি মৎস্য খামারসমূহের সক্ষমতা ও মৎস্য উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন’ প্রকল্পের পরিচালক মো. মশিউর রহমান এবং টাঙ্গাইলের জেলা মৎস্য কর্মকর্তা মোহাম্মদ শাহজাহান কবীর।

এ ছাড়া মৎস্য অধিদপ্তরের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা, প্রকল্পসংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তা, স্থানীয় প্রশাসনের প্রতিনিধি এবং এলাকার গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku Visits Fish Seed Production Farm in Tangail

Inaugurates a 20-kilowatt solar power system and plants a sapling; stresses modern technology for quality fish seed production

Staff Correspondent, Tangail, Friday, 11 September: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, MP, visited the Fish Seed Production Farm located in the Atpukurpar area of Tangail on Friday.

During the visit, he inspected the farm’s infrastructure and production activities, inaugurated a 20-kilowatt solar power system, and planted a sapling on the farm premises.

The State Minister toured the farm’s ponds, hatchery, fish fry production facilities, and preservation systems. He received a detailed briefing from the officials concerned on the farm’s current production status, fish seed quality control, production capacity, infrastructure, and ongoing development activities.

He also exchanged views with officials and project personnel on the application of modern technology in fish seed production, enhancement of production capacity, and improvement of the overall effectiveness of government-run fish farms.

Speaking on the occasion, the State Minister said there is no alternative to producing high-quality fish seed to meet the country’s growing demand for fish and sustain the steady growth of national fish production.

“If we can ensure the production of healthy, disease-free, and quality fish fry, fish farmers will benefit and the country’s overall fish production will increase,” he said.

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said the government has been working relentlessly to strengthen the fisheries sector through the production of safe and quality fish seed. Modernising government fish farms, improving their infrastructure, and enhancing their production capacity would generate fresh momentum in the country’s fisheries production, he added.

Emphasising the need to establish government fish seed production farms as reliable institutions for fish farmers, the State Minister said their production and service standards must be improved.

He also stressed the importance of preserving improved brood fish, adopting scientific breeding practices, ensuring proper health screening of fish fry, and introducing modern farm management systems. These measures, he said, would enable fish farmers across the country to obtain quality fish fry more easily.

After inaugurating the 20-kilowatt solar power system, the State Minister said the solar energy-based initiative would make the farm’s electricity management more sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective.

“Expanding the use of renewable energy at government fish farms will reduce production costs while also contributing to environmental protection,” he said.

The State Minister noted that the adoption of environmentally friendly technology remains one of the government’s priorities. Similar initiatives involving solar power and other modern, eco-friendly technologies would gradually be introduced at government fish farms across the country, he added.

Later, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku planted a sapling on the farm premises. He highlighted the importance of planned tree plantation and increased greenery for protecting the farm’s environment and biodiversity.

Director of the Department of Fisheries’ Dhaka Division Md Ahsan Hasib Khan; Project Director of the “Infrastructure Development for Enhancing the Capacity of Existing Government Fish Farms and Increasing Fish Production” project Md Mashiur Rahman; and Tangail District Fisheries Officer Mohammad Shahjahan Kabir were present during the visit.

Senior officials of the Department of Fisheries, project personnel, representatives of the local administration, and prominent local residents also attended the programme.
